Beswick Chaffinch model number 991
Beswick Pottery was established in 1894, and is renowned for its high-quality ceramic figurines, particularly their animal and bird models.
The Chaffinch is one of their most popular bird figurines, known for its lifelike detailing and vibrant colors. This particular model is the first version, featuring the chaffinch perched on a green mound base, designed by Arthur Gredington.
This brilliant lifelike figure is beautifully painted with pink, brown & black gloss.
Issued from 1943 to 1973, this particular piece looks to be mid-run, so circa 1950's. At just 2.75" high, this figure is in overall excellent vintage condition. I could not find a flaw on it. See pictures for details.
