Vintage Antique Victorian Brass & Iron Heavy Door Knob/Lock Assembly, Steampunk?

Wow! When they say “They don’t make ‘em like they used to…”, they could easily be talking about this Antique Victorian Door Knob/Lock Assembly. This thing is heavy, maybe 5 pounds. That’s probably why it’s still looking great for being somewhere between 125 and 150 years old.

I know NOTHING about the mechanics of door knob assemblies. So take what I say with a pinch of salt and a lot of googling. Also, I will gladly measure any dimension you need, so let me know. What I can guess is that this came from a heavy thick old solid Victorian wood door. Maybe a door leading outside or a heavy inside door. I’ve seen these before, in old Victorian homes, so I’m not completely unfamiliar with them. It seems to be all here, except a key. The key unlock core can probably be replaced or a new key can be cut for it.

So, what else? Maybe you build a custom display panel to show it off or a lamp base or something Steampunk? That’s just me thinking outside the box. Maybe you have another idea?
