Of all of the DSO object types, planetary nebulae have the most interesting combination of structure, color and brightness. No two are alike. Their only deficient characteristic is size. Most of these objects are small and require a longer focal length setup of at least 1000 mm. A focal length setup above 2000 mm is ideal. With the right setup, these objects make excellent astrophotography targets. There are enough objects shown in this book to keep the astrophotographer busy for years. The purpose of this book is to help the astrophotographer understand and target the best PNe in the night sky reachable from the Northern Hemisphere and able to be imaged in 5 hours or less. It provides an introduction to PNe and is primarily a visual guide to PNe. The main section contains an image, data and description for each of the top 250 PNe to image. Following the main section are descriptions and many posters of different features and collections of PNe. The book contains 575 PNe images overall. Read more
